Meet the Coaches

Coach MATTHEW Mitchell

 Coach Mitchell is a former collegiate baseball player, who played at Shaw University (Raleigh, North Carolina- DII) and Prince Georges Community College ( Largo, MD-DII). Throughout his college career a few Major League teams showed interest, and he was invited to several pre-draft work outs by the Washington Nationals, Kansas City Royals, and the San Diego Padres. After his playing career was over, he decided to start coaching baseball. Coach Mitchell has been coaching for the last ten years; little league all the way up to the collegiate level. Currently, he is the Head Coach of JV team at St. Albans and has previously coached at Ron Brown High School and Dematha Catholic High School. Coach Mitchell was honored as  DCIAA’s (District of Columbia Interscholastic Athletic Association) Coach of the Year in 2019.
